The currency in Poland is the Zloty (PLN) and 1 zloty = 100 groszy.

When in Poland you can exchange currency in banks and some hotels however the best place to exchange your money is at the local Kantors, these small shops are usually located in and around the town square in smaller towns but in the Tricity area (Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot) Kantors can be found in all the main tourist areas.

You will without a doubt get the best exchange rate in these Kantors and they all have similar exchange rates so you don’t need to visit them all. What you see on the board or on the monitor is exactly what you will get.

We advise not to exchange money at the airport as the exchange rate there is not favourable.

All the major credit and debit cards are pretty much accepted everywhere, and there are cash machines in and outside all the banks and larger supermarkets, shopping galeries etc.
