SIGHTSEEING
The Amber Coast and the Pomeranian region of Poland has a long and fascinating history and without a doubt Gdansk is the gem in sightseeing. It has a lovely old town area lined with beautifuly decorated old buildings, narrow streets and alleyways all leading to the waterfront and the Motlawa river where you can stroll along and pick up one of the many boat excursions on offer.
Further along the waterfront is the recently opened Museum of The Second World War with a fantastic display of war memorabilia and even full scale original tanks.
The garrison of the Westerplatte Fort is easily reachable by a boat trip from the Gdansk waterfront.
In between Gdansk and Gdynia lies the seaside town of Sopot which is a favourite holiday centre amongst the rich and famous with the 5 star hotel ‘The Grand’ dominating the glorious beach. The famous long pier is a great place place to visit where you can stroll along and see the Bay of Gdansk in its entirety.
Alittle further on from Sopot is Gdynia a busy sea port, it has an extensive sea aquarium on the waterfront and moored up are old sailing ships you can visit including a world war two battleship.
From the waterfront area there are numerous boat excursions available including a trip on a pirate ship.
