BEACHES AND COASTLINE
The coastline along the Baltic Sea is stunningly attractive due to its diverse landscape with cliffs, sand dunes and gorgeous white sand beaches, virtually the whole length of the coastline is one long beach dotted with fishing villages and sea ports.
Known as The Amber Coast due to the rich deposits of amber in the Baltic Sea, the best time to collect amber from the shoreline is just after a storm where the amber gets thrown up onto the beaches and if you’re lucky you can find chunks of amber with inclusions such as spiders, foilage and other insects all over 40 million years old!
All the beaches are safe to swim in and most have been atested by the Blue Flag for water cleanliness and safety, they are of course very popular with the Polish people who love sunbathing and swimming and often in the summer months spend the whole day on the beach.
